Visiting Bath During Christmas Time
Bath is a beautiful destination all year round, however this magical city becomes even more magical at Christmas time. Book a short break or weekend away this Christmas to enjoy all that Bath has to offer over the festive period.
Christmas Market
Bath’s award-winning Christmas Market runs from Thursday 22nd of November to Sunday the 9th of December and is one of the biggest events of the year for locals and visitors. Featuring nearly 200 chalets offering everything from homeware and jewellery, to cosmetics and clothing, there is no better place to get a head-start on your Christmas shopping. The beautifully lit up chalets further highlight the picturesque charm of Bath’s period architecture as you eat, drink and shop.
Noel a Paris
This unique Christmas party taking place on December 6th has a Paris at Christmas theme. Organised by Hype Agency, an events planning team with 18 years of experience, and hosted at Bath Pavillion, Noel a Paris is sure to be a night to remember. The venue will be expertly decorated to transform it into a starlight night with a Parisian garden chill-out area to relax in. Guests may enjoy welcome drinks, authentic french crepes and a three course, haute cuisine meal.
Jack and the Beanstalk Pantomime
Christmas isn’t Christmas without a pantomime. This year OOOH ARRR Productions will be returning to The Mission Theatre after their successful run of Cinderella last year. In their production of Jack and the Beanstalk, find out how Jack’s life is turned upside down when his magic beans sprout a gigantic beanstalk that takes him up into the clouds. With dazzling costumes and laugh-out-loud jokes, this show is a lovely pre-Christmas treat to bring family of all ages together. The show runs from Sunday 16th – Wednesday 19th December at 4.30pm and 7pm. Tickets are £10 (£7 Concession) .
The Festival of Light at Longleat
This extraordinary festival will make you long for the cold, dark evenings all year round. Using Chinese lanterns, the grounds of Longleat stately home will be lit up with this exciting themed trail. Marvel at the incredible moving displays that depict scenes from around the world in this immersive experience. The festival runs on selected dates from the 10th of November to the 6th of January.
Festive Street Food Markets
Complementing the Christmas market is the Kingsmead Festive Street Food Market, just a short walk away in Kingsmead square. The market organisers are hoping to capitalise on the reputation as a centre for high quality independent food that this beautiful Georgian square already has. Running every Friday and Saturday from Friday the 24th of November to Saturday 9th of December, this market will offer locally produced food and drink, showcasing the culinary talents of the South West. While visitors sample food from around the world like Cantonese dumplings, Alpine style mac and cheese, Valencian paella and crispy chilli squid, they will be be accompanied by live music from local artists.
